Barbara Ellis Studio of Dance has taught in Colorado Springs for over 60 years and runs a summer program of recreational classes, themed camps and afternoon intensives. Themed camps priced at $299 include an Animal Kingdom Dance Camp for ages 3-7, a Bluey camp, a Barbie and Ken adventures camp and a woodland fairy camp built around ballet, crafts and costume design. Afternoon Intensives are open to intermediate and advanced dancers ages 10 and up and run 4:00pm-9:00pm Monday through Thursday for four weeks, covering technique, a Broadway musical theater week with audition and singing coaching, hip hop with guest teachers, and a specialty week spanning ballroom, silks, dance-assistant training and mental health and dance. Four-week recreational classes are open to all ages including adults.
