My son does not go here, yet, however I felt compelled to leave an appropriate review based on how I was treated. I have reached out to so many dance studios for my ASD son, and I have been met with such unwelcoming experiences, that I started to feel utterly defeated. When the woman called me back from this establishment, she was so nice, so caring, enthusiastic, and all around nice. This is something I have not been able to find even in my sons current dance studio. She was patient with me while I explained everything to her, and explained what I was hoping to obtain in a studio. I am looking forward to hopefully enrolling my son this summer.

This studio has been part of my life for the past 28 years. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to learn under Kathleen Rathbun and other wonderful teachers in an environment that not only fostered my passion for dance, but also helped me grow as a person in many ways. I have been fortunate enough to return to this studio as an instructor for the past 10 years and share my love of dance and this school with the students I teach as well as my own children. The atmosphere is a positive one that provides structure and routines alongside professional level training. This place made my daughter a ballet dancer. She is 16 years old and will be spending the year at Cary Ballet Conservatory in preprofessional program (this program has been listed several times as best pre professional program by YAGP) where she will study to be a professional dancer. If your child want to study ballet and have dreams of being a ballet dancer, this would be the place to be. The yearly recitals are always so beautifully done with the costumes, music and choreography. Ms. Rathbun is the best ballet teacher and all of the other teachers are just as wonderful. My daughter and I will be forever grateful for everything they have done for her. We will miss them!!

We transferred to Ballet & Dance of Upstate NY after not receiving the same level of instruction for all students at another studio. We have been so impressed with the professionalism, and level of instruction provided to all students here, irregardless of whether they are competition students or not. Even better the cost was comparable to what we were paying at another studio! The costumes for performances are tasteful and very affordable for families as well. The staff genuinely care about the students, and it shows! They're level of dedication to their craft, and making sure the students are learning the proper form and technique is amazing. We love it here and are so happy we made the switch! My daughter has learned so much, and we have seen a huge improvement in her ballet dancing in the time we have been with Ballet and Dance of Upstate NY. I highly recommend this school, and wish we would have started my daughter there, rather than wasting time and money at another studio that was more focused on competition rather than actually teaching ballet to all students.
