Asheville Youth Rowing Association is a nonprofit offering week-long learn-to-row summer camps for beginners at the Jack Gartner Boathouse on Lake Julian. Sessions run mornings from 9:30 a.m. to noon and are open to kids age 11 and up (rising 6th graders and older, through age 18); campers must be able to swim. The half-day program teaches rowing basics, teamwork and water safety.
