Ashé Cultural Arts Center
Children at Kuumba Academy spend each day on art, music, African drumming, dance, gardening and social development with local teaching artists and culture bearers. This full-day summer camp for youth ages 5 to 15 is the youth program of Ashé Cultural Arts Center in Central City, New Orleans, with optional aftercare. Campers receive a healthy breakfast and hot lunch daily, and the program adds Field Trip Fridays and special guest artists. The program honors African traditions and uses cultural arts as a foundation for youth development.
