Arvada Youth Football Association is a nonprofit community football league run by an elected board and a member of the Jefferson County Youth Football Association, serving boys ages seven to fourteen. Players register and are drafted onto teams by grade level, 1st through 8th grade, for a season rather than a camp: flag football runs March through May and tackle football from early August through late November.

★Julie McLeanMy son was new to football and we had nothing but issues from the moment he started. The lack of organization and information for a new family was only the beginning. Then my son got barely any playing time and was told it was to keep him safe - it remained the same for the entire season. The coach then said he would give him more playing time when it seemed like they were not going to win during games - didn’t happen AND they didn’t win one game the entire season. The whole team was just as bad at playing as my son apparently was but they all got tons of more playing time. I tried contacting the league with my concerns multiple times and they never wrote back. Complete waste of money and the huge expense of gear. The team even had the nerve to ask every family to pay another $100 each when that information was no where to be found in the description. I realize it’s a volunteer organization but that doesn’t make it ok to run it this way.

This league is very different in that the coaches are more educated about teaching the basics, and the "prevention of injuries". The attention to detail for EVERY Child is amazing, they have focused on my Son's individual strengths and as a parent of a middle schooler the desired end result of teaching him sports ethics and how to be a winner on every level... even if you lose is exactly what he's learning.
