We had hard time getting in contact with smn to book a motel, but somehow we succeeded, so I would recommend the stuff to find a way people can easily reach out to them. I’m attaching a video of a motel room, which I couldn’t find anywhere (what is included and what is not), so hopefully this video will help someone like me. The room is more or less tidy. Other than that the playground is completely new, so kids had a great time! The pool was too cold for Memorial Day, but the rest was just fine!

I do not recommend Auya Beskyd Camp. Children deserve a safe environment—not punishment, fear, tears, blame, unfairness, and mistreatment by staff. This camp doesn’t even deserve one star.

My original review was removed, and I have reason to believe staff were involved in that process. I am sharing this again because I believe families deserve transparency and should be informed of how matters are addressed. Our recent experience at Auya Beskyd Camp was heartbreaking. On July 9th, 2025, I received a short, distressing phone call from my daughter, who was crying and begging to be taken home. She was accused of bullying by staff. It was very troubling that staff accused my daughter of bullying, as this accusation was not only unfair but also very damaging for her. The situation was handled in a completely inappropriate and harmful way. We later found out from two adult witnesses that one of the staff members yelled at our daughter and forcefully pulled her by the arm, causing her to cry and visibly shake. Staff then attempted to isolate her by forcing her to sleep alone in a tent that my daughter described as unsafe and unstable. Fortunately, two adult witnesses intervened. Not only did the staff fail to investigate properly, but they also failed to notify us as required by the camp’s own bullying policy which states that parents will be contacted in such situations. I was not contacted until the next day at 11:00 am well after disciplinary actions had already been taken. What should have been a positive summer experience instead caused serious emotional distress for our child and great concern for our family. We trusted the camp to provide a safe environment, and they failed to do so. I sincerely hope the camp re-evaluates their staff training, emergency communication procedures, and disciplinary practices before more harm is done to other children.

Ukrainian American Youth Association has their summer camps where they continue their learning about Ukrainian history and tradition. Camps help kids keep their Ukrainian language alive and support their identification as Ukrainian.
