Powered by GoogleI had a very upsetting experience here. My friends and I were simply trying to help our friend get a guest pass, and one staff member was extremely rude from the start. He raised his voice at us, spoke in a harsh and disrespectful tone, and gave us intimidating looks that honestly made us feel uncomfortable and uneasy. It didn’t feel like he was just enforcing rules—he was shouting at us and trying to scare us down, even though we weren’t causing any trouble at all. At one point, he even tried to kick us out for no clear reason. I completely understand that rules need to be followed, but there’s no reason to treat people this way. The way we were spoken to made us feel unwelcome and disrespected. I hope this is taken seriously so others don’t have to go through the same experience. Fortunately, we found an adult to be responsible for supervising and taking the responsibility. However, the staff member kept on trying to convince him not to and was being extremely biased and rood. The staff member is kind of chunky and has always been rude to my friends.
I absolutely love this gym! The staff are always friendly and welcoming, the trainers are knowledgeable and motivating, and the equipment is clean and well-maintained. The classes are fun and challenging, and there’s a great variety for every fitness level. I’ve seen amazing results and always look forward to coming here. Highly recommended
The Addison-Penzak JCC in Los Gatos offers a welcoming and well-rounded environment for both individual fitness and family recreation. The fitness center is clean, modern, and thoughtfully equipped—with everything from free weights and resistance machines to a spacious cardio area. The group fitness classes are a standout, offering a variety of options like yoga, HIIT, and spin, all led by knowledgeable instructors who strike a great balance between motivation and approachability. Whether you’re working out solo or joining a class, the atmosphere feels supportive and community-driven. For families, the JCC really shines. The outdoor pool is a favorite, especially in the warmer months, and the facility often hosts seasonal events that bring people together in a relaxed, inclusive setting. There’s also a gymnasium, tennis courts, and even pickleball—making it easy to stay active in ways that go beyond the typical gym routine. It’s the kind of place where you can drop in for a workout, then meet up with family for a swim or a snack at the café. The blend of fitness, leisure, and community makes it a standout resource in the Los Gatos area.
The story behind how I got a membership here twice is funny to me. In 2013 or 2014, I didn't mean to get a membership here, but rather at the Swim and Racket Club, which is also on Oka Road. I made a wrong turn here, took a tour, and decided that this is what I needed (mostly the pool to train for a triathlon I didn't even end up doing). The facilities were nice, the staff was as well. Last year (2024), after encountering a strange leg injury, I decided I needed to swim, and remember how much I enjoyed the JCC last time, I signed up again through an old friend of mine. I swam quite a lot here this last year, did some rowing, played basketball and pickleball, and wished I had used more of the facilities. Through it all, big thanks to Diego for help with my membership, Debbie for being there at the front with a warm welcome, and to all the lifeguards who ever had to watch over me (I once swam here continuously for almost 4 hours...). Some strange bit of fate brought me here twice about a decade apart, so despite moving out of state recently, I might be back! In the meantime, thank you for the memories.
My kids and I joined APJCC about 2 weeks ago and are absolutely thrilled to be members. Carolina in membership was super amazing and had such patience with me while I asked a million questions regarding my kids and what they could do there. Since joining, my family and I have to say that the employees are always so nice and willing to help and the trainers (especially Melanie) are just spectacular! We absolutely love Melanie! The facility and fitness center are always clean, well kept, and never overcrowded. Even during high traffic times, one can always find a machine outside. We have not tried swimming in the pool but I already have my daughter signed up for lessons. If the swim instructors are anything like the trainers, I know it will be a huge success! Overall, this place is great and I highly recommend checking them out and meeting the fabulous folks there.
