I only gave the extra star because my kiddo mostly enjoys her class. They aren’t teaching kids many dance skills. Every act in the recital was terrible. The kids weren’t in sync, were just going through the motions on some of it without having any passion or flare, and in some groups, literally every kid forgot a large chunk of the dance. It was so poorly done. And the rehearsal alone lasted 5 hours. With all the time and money parents are putting into this, you’d think the performance would be better, and that they would’ve learned some skills. I really feel terrible for the kids involved in this.

My daughter attended some classes at Adagio and she enjoyed it. This is a relatively new studio and Jessica and her staff provided a family like atmosphere. Everyone was super welcoming and provided a lot of good information. The studio is open to new ideas and current musical choices. I would highly recommend this studio for families new to dance, because it is a place every family can feel at home!

We love Adagio Academy of the Performing Arts. My daughter had danced her whole life at the predecessor studio. When that studio closed, we were very happy that one of the instructors decided to open a studio herself. She hired the same instructors so it continued to feel like the studio where my daughter had grown up. Miss Jes (and all of the teachers) are wonderful and love working with the students. They offer a large variety of classes for all ages. If you are looking for a dance studio that makes dancing fun, I highly recommend Adagio Academy of the Performing Arts.

to share some feedback regarding our experience at your dance studio. Last summer, my sister Rebecca and I embarked on a search for a dance studio for our daughters, both aged five. Despite the initial challenges of traveling from Frederick, MD, and Falling Waters, WV, we were intrigued by your studio. Although the facility wasn't ready when we first visited in August 2023, your prompt callback and initial impression convinced us to wait for its completion. Classes finally began in January 2024, although the facility wasn't fully prepared. The environment included unfinished flooring and patchy drywall, which we overlooked in anticipation of the broader benefits. Unfortunately, ongoing issues arose thereafter, including frequent miscommunications about recital details and a cold demeanor from younger staff members upon arrival. The promised viewing TVs weren't functional until two months into the term, and when we raised concerns, the response we received lacked empathy and understanding. Furthermore, issues persisted with costume sizes and inaccurate records, despite our attempts to rectify them through your portal. Most concerning was the unprofessional handling of complaints, such as when my sister was purposefully ignored and later publicly called out during recital week. Speaking of which, the recital itself left much to be desired. The performances seemed more centered around your staff than the students, and some song choices were inappropriate for a family audience, as they conveyed messages unsuitable for young viewers. While I understand the challenges of running a business, clear communication and professionalism are crucial in maintaining customer satisfaction. As a business owner myself and with years of managerial experience, I believe addressing these concerns promptly and respectfully would greatly enhance your studio's reputation and enrollment. Save yourself a lot of frustrations & money - register your kiddo anywhere else but here! Also, at least one of these Google “reviews” is one of the “teachers”. Ive been a dance mom for almost 9 years. I have never written a bad review at any dance school/academy until now. Please beware. This was our first year trying this place. Extremely unprofessional management. Teachers are teenagers with attitude and a superiority complex. Poor communication, terrible end of year pictures (couldnt even post or print them!) that they charged an outrageous amount for, “teacher” discussing who are their class favorites & not favs while parents are within ear shot, dance technique & skill set not up to par with industry standard. I paid for extra private lessons for my daughter. One day the class was cut short from 30 mins to approx 10 mins and I documented this and addressed it professionally. I asked for a refund for that lesson day & was met with complete attitude weeks following. I was ignored by Jess until I pushed the issue. Though she did apologize for her staff's behavior she followed it up with being upset about the fact that the lessons weren’t paid (via auto-dudect). I expressed how aut-dedeuct isnt my problem & credit card has been on file all year. She eventually agreed that would be an issue on their end but called it a miscommunication? Recital was a complete embarrassment. Venue was horrific, the show was more about the “teachers” (I use that term loosely) then it was about the kiddos. No structure backstage except for the teenager teachers yelling at grown adults. My family traveled from out of state as they always do & they were shocked at the performance quality & venue utilized. Though this isn’t everything that happened all season long, these are the highlights. This is not just my opinion, several moms have contacted me appalled about the same issues & will not be going back. Yesterday Jess texted me and some other moms about if we would be re-enrolling our kids. I very clearly outlined the reasons we would not be registering at this location again & she completely ignored everything. No apology, no addressing the concerns & issues, etc. They are clearly short on sign ups & enrollments this year but refuse to address the issues as to why. So sad. Thankful there are a lot of other dance schools in the area. ☺️
