Action Baseball Club is a nonprofit traveling select baseball organization at 2100 Downing Lane in Leander fielding youth through high school teams, with a stated mission of developing the player and the person for college baseball, professional baseball or academics. It provides a training facility, a strength and speed classroom, coaching staff, community involvement and off-the-field guidance including drug and alcohol counseling, and is known to college recruiters for its commitments and MLB draft picks. Participation is by team tryout rather than open-enrollment summer camp weeks.

★★Devin GintherAfter speaking with the owner & receiving zero feedback, think it is important to provide an accurate review. Action is like many other paid select baseball clubs. It is really about money 1st...our youth 2nd. I had two kids on Action teams. My experience with their Leander based area team was good (3.5 stars). My experience with their new "franchise" or Hill Country Action was HORRIBLE (negative stars). Their Director of Player Development, Kyle Grey, should not be coaching & mentoring youth players under 14U. He has little experience in life outside of baseball and basically every weekend would bring in kids from their Leander facility to be starters during tournament play...while some of the roster kids sat & watched. WORSE? I have a kid with diagnosed ADHD and Kyle was completely insensitive to his disability and punished him for very minor ADHD tendencies. I ended up literally pulling my kid off the team and away from Kyle Grey. If you are in north Austin, I think Action Leander is worth a shot. If you live in the Hill Country, I would run far, far away. I tried giving Kyle feedback, he didnt want to hear any of it and doesnt seem to be receptive to building a great club organization through involvement within our local community and showing true concern for his young players. High school kids? Different story altogether and I would think Kyle can be successful with older, more mature players who can be treated more like adults.
