Highly recommend ACPR!!! Their coaches grow to be more like family and you can feel the love and passion they have for all the kids. Their balance of encouraging but pushing to improve skills, showing love but holding expectations truly makes us love ACPR more and more. We started with their 2 year old mommy and me class and it is absolutely amazing seeing the growth in two short years, not only with skills but overall confidence and self love. ❤️

I was really excited to enroll my daughter at ACPR because they were highly recommended by a few friends. The facility was clean and had a very welcoming environment. She genuinely enjoyed attending classes and we were all impressed by how quickly she seemed to be progressing! However, since ACPR doesn’t offer competition until Level 3, I took her Harford Gymnastics so she could compete at Level 2. Unfortunately, she did not qualify for Level 2 placement due to various fundamental form issues. Assuming the standards were just strict there, I had her evaluated at another gym, which gave the same feedback and expressed concern that such basic skills had been overlooked at ACPR. It seems ACPR focuses on teaching advanced skills before fully mastering the fundamentals— for example (note this is just one of many): proper foot, arm, hand, AND leg placement in a lunge, which is essential for landings in nearly every acro skill on floor and beam. Now my daughter has to start from scratch to correct these habits, setting her back at least another year. I shared my concerns with Dana, explaining how disappointing it is to have to tell my daughter she can’t compete this year. Dana responded by saying “she will be alright” and “many young gymnasts are pigeon-toed at this stage,” even though my daughter is definitely not pigeon-toed. She also asked why I hadn’t raised these issues with the coaches sooner. First, I am not a coach—they are responsible for coaching my daughter properly. Second, I’m not a gymnast and was unaware of these problems until the recent feedback from other gyms. Had I known, I would have spoken up earlier. I also emailed Steve twice to express my frustration over the setback, wasted money, and the added expense of private lessons needed to fix these issues, but received no response. Overall, ACPR is a good option for recreational gymnastics. However, if you’re looking for serious competition training and strong fundamentals, you might want to explore other gyms.

It is a nice gym overall.

Daughter is having fun so that's what matters most. Due to social distancing I haven't been able to view the class but she is always pretty happy when she leaves. Reasonably priced too for a once a week class.

I went to ACPR as a young girl in the mid-1990's, and loved it! It kept me physically active, engaged with peers, and busy having fun during the school year and summer. I highly recommend this gym-- its a very established program and all the coaches are great with kids. I see familiar faces on their website that have been there since I went almost 20 years ago!
