7DrumCity is a Washington DC music-lessons and rehearsal studio that runs a Youth Rock Camp for older children and teens, in age bands of 9-11 and 12-16. Campers each play a chosen instrument - drums, guitar, bass, keys, or voice - and team up to rehearse and perform together as a band. Most rooms have a drum set (and cymbals!) as well as other instruments and they have rooms sized to fit everything between a solo practice or jamming with your entire band. I only wish they were open earlier on weekdays.

I play in a band and we go to 7 Drum to practice once a week. The vibe is really fantastic. Not only do they have a great variety of music teachers, but they also have other events where they mix musicians randomly to practice and get them on stage for what they call Flashband. A real gem that encourages musicians to play with other people and breathe live music. We're lucky to have such a place in DC!
