YMCA Camp Shioc is a licensed outdoor day camp on 10 wooded acres about 20 miles northwest of Appleton, run by the YMCA of the Fox Cities. It serves children ages 5-12 (must have completed 5K) with fishing, canoeing, kayaking, and paddle boating on a stocked pond, a low ropes course, STEAM activities, outdoor cooking, and arts and crafts, plus a weekly swim at the Appleton YMCA; archery is open to campers 7 and up. Registration is by the week.

Our days started at the YMCA in Appleton & we'd take the bus out to the day camp; unless we had a field trip activity for the day we would go to Camp Shicoton. I remember we would be able to choose what we wanted to do throughout the days; we could go fishing, do archery, make arts and crafts, join group activities, etc. The staff were always very kind & positive. I was an extremely quiet, & shy kid & always felt very comfortable here. Looking at the more recent photos give me such a wonderful euphoric surge of nostalgia & amazing memories!🥰✌️🫶
