I am extremely disappointed with the YMCA’s handling of my childcare refund. I have been waiting since April 17th for a refund that is still listed as pending over two months later. I have called multiple times regarding this issue, and the customer service experience has been unacceptable. Several call center representatives were unhelpful and had poor attitudes. To make matters worse, I later learned that my refund request was not even submitted after my initial call, causing further delays. I have also sent multiple emails to Clara Hines and left voicemails, yet both emails have been ignored and my calls have not been returned. Despite my repeated efforts to resolve this matter, there has been no meaningful communication or progress. At this point, it appears that my case is not being actively worked on at all. The lack of responsiveness, accountability, and professionalism is extremely frustrating, especially when it involves money that should have been refunded months ago. I expected much better customer service and follow-through from an organization like the YMCA. Unfortunately, my experience has been very unprofessional and disappointing. I have all emails to prove what I am saying as well.

I chose the YMCA because I expected a fun, active, and engaging camp experience for my child during school breaks, including summer. Unfortunately, the experience hasn’t matched what I believed the YMCA stood for. The daily activities lack excitement, structure, and creativity. You would think a youth-focused program would hire energetic counselors who are ready to interact, lead games, and create a fun-filled day, but that hasn’t been the case. At this point, it feels more like a drop off babysitting service than an actual camp. For the amount of money being charged, I expected more than simple stick figure drawings and basic paper crafts. Even the lunches feel like an afterthought. The YMCA’s mission is supposed to center around youth development, enrichment, and giving kids a great experience away from school. YMCA Mid-South really needs to revisit and revamp their goals, programming, and staff engagement to better serve the children and families who trust them.

Was in the area with my son for an event. I wanted to get in a workout. I was told I wasn't a member of the Bartlett Y. I've been a Member of the YMCA for 12 years. First time I've been unable to use my geographical membership privileges at any Y. This was extremely disappointing. The staff was professional, but Bartlett YMCA is false advertising. I'm extremely inconvenienced. Bartlett needs to be dropped from the YMCA roster.

Don’t open membership in YMCA Memphis & Mid South! They care only how to charge you more and more. You can not change or cancel your membership without visiting them or sending a certified letter. I moved to another state and didnt know its gonna be such a fight to cancel my membership! I sent them letter and they got it July 7th. Today is July 18th, after my 2 calls to their office they said they dont see my letter and dont see cancellation on my membership, thats all they can say. And for sure they gonna stretch time to charge next billing cycle, and one more, cause they need “30 day notice” Ridiculous!

I would give 0 if I was able. There was an incident regarding my child and another child. It was an incident that involved pulling my daughter’s pants down. The YMCA has it in their policy that they are not going to call if something like that happens. They will tell the person picking up and that person is responsible for relaying the information. My daughter’s father and I do not have an amicable relationship so that is not an option. So for anyone using the YMCA afterschool, you should know, I was not made aware that this even happened until I was told Sunday NIGHT by my child’s father. I am going to the school board because this “policy” is absurd. In today’s time, I want to know if my child so much as bumps her knee.
