YMCA Family Camp Nawakwa sits on 180 acres of forest, wetlands, and lakes in Lac du Flambeau and has served families for over 100 years. It is a family camp where parents and children stay together in 34 cabins (most with kitchens), rather than a drop-off youth camp. Activities include kayaking, archery, crafts, wildlife presentations, water carnivals, tie-dye, and campfires.

Over the last six years my family and my sister’s family have been going for Thanksgiving. It’s peaceful and beautiful anytime of the year, but now the snowy days are definitely are favorite!

I return every year for a week of fun in a cabin on a pristine lake packed with fishing, kayaking, swimming, sailboats and paddle boards. Volleyball, Pickleball, Softball and Archery games. The kitchen is huge and well stocked. The bedrooms have comfortable beds. The building is located on the lake so it very pretty too. You can walk from the lodge to the lake. Staff are nice and price is also reasonable for such a large facility.
