YMCA Camp Onyahsa is a nearly 200-acre overnight and day camp on Chautauqua Lake in Dewittville, NY, serving the community since 1898 (one of the oldest U.S. camps) for ages 4–15. It keeps a small community of under 90 overnight campers per week from mid-June to mid-August, with swimming, boating, arts and crafts, sports, a challenge course, hikes, and campfires. ACA-accredited and NYS Health Dept.–licensed.

This camp is well put together and run with the intention to make memories whilst polishing the core values of the YMCA. Jon O’Brian has run this camp for almost forever. A professor of History, he is a man who meticulously run his camp like it is a well thought out lesson plan with many driven living parts with engagement in mind. He incorporates councilors from around the world: Japan, Spain, Mexico, Sweden and more as well as having counselors from the local region as well. It’s surprising how amazing the talent he has hired is. His assistant program director works on Nuclear pump assemblies among other high-precision projects! Onuyasha keeps campers busy! From having adventures to learning about the world around them, each camper forms a bond with the camp itself and with their fellow campers. It’s a powerful experience. How can we make the world a better place? Send them to camp! Especially Onyasha. They will have memories and grow closer to their positive virtues. Each camper will make the world a better place for themselves as well as where they will end up in the future.
