I sent my nine year old son and three year old daughter to Wilderwood Camp this year. We had such a mixed experience! As others have mentioned, the security at pick up was thorough. My kids enjoyed playing and I appreciated the creativity and play led by the staff and the fact that there were no screens! Communication leading up to camp was not good. The day I dropped them off, things seemed pretty disorganized and no one really knew what was going on. Like another parent mentioned, we signed up for robot camp and felt like they oversold and underdelivered. We never received our survival kit. But at pickup each day, my kids were happy and had a great day. The fact that lunch was included was wonderful. If you need childcare for the summer, Wilderwood Camps is a great option if you can have loose expectations.

My oldest son attended this camp for the first time this week and really enjoyed it. Registration was easy and I had pretty good communication when I had questions. I really appreciated the use of a check out QR code for picking up my son at the end of the day, as well as the photos of license plates and driver's licenses--it was comforting to know that this was a secure process. We found drop off and pick up to be easy and straightforward. My son enjoyed playing with the other kids and on the splash pad and he really liked the counselors! Amusingly, he was annoyed with us for picking him up "too early" because he was having so much fun and he would like to go back next year. :)

Updated review: we attended robot camp last week. Unfortunately the online description sold of this weeks camp was wildly inaccurate. No robot building, programming, coding etc took place as described. My son still had fun swimming in the creek but was extremely disappointed as this was the one camp he chose for the summer. I contacted the camp in various ways regarding my concerns mid week and did not get answers. Over the phone I was told she would speak with the director and get back with me… nothing. We will not be attending this camp again as I’m extremely disappointed in the lack of communication and the fact that they sold a completely different experience than what was actually given. If you NEED babysitting this is a fun experience; however if you are sending your kid to camp for a specific experience it’s not worth it. We also never received the campers survival kit. I have to give it up to their security measure with the kids safety at drop off and pick up though that was very comforting as a parent. Registration was a breeze, price breakdown was clear and up front no hidden costs and easy to add in extras like extended camp hours which are wonderful for working parents. We are beyond excited for robotics camp!

I'm not sure how it is at the other locations but I think the best thing they could improve is perhaps have a camp sign that directs to the pick up and drop off location. It's caused a little bit of confusion for us. Other than that though, my daughter comes home happy and tired from a long day of fun. So I can't complain. She seems to love camp. I was worried she would be a bit hesitant or hard to acclimate since she ALWAYS has her big sister. But no, she's done great and seems very comfortable with the counselors. Also, the check out process is really thorough. I enjoy the procedure they use to ensure children's safety. In contrast to my other child's camp I prefer the checkout process more, here at Wilderwood.

This is our second week this summer, and my daughter has already asked to attend all summer. She attended one week last summer and enjoyed it so much. From registering to drop off, the Wilderwood team make it easy, safe, and convenient. My daughter absolutely adores each counselor, and it’s obvious they go above and beyond to make sure the kids enjoy their time at camp. I can not say enough great things about Wilderwood camp, and highly recommend it to anyone.
