White Bear Sailing School is a nonprofit sailing school on White Bear Lake in Dellwood offering summer day camps taught by US Sailing–certified instructors. Programs progress by age: Pre-Opti introduces ages 4–6 to the water, Opti All-Day Camp serves beginners ages 6–11, and 420 All-Day Camp is for ages 12–17. Learn-to-race programs and competitive Opti and 420 race teams are also offered.

★Steve OAdult course is not worth the money. Instructors are kids with little to no experience leading folks older than themselves. Instructors made irresponsible decisions which impacted the safety of adult learners, like leaving the group to pick up stranded boat (that they sent across the lake without checking gas tank level, even though they knew it had a problematic guage and were vocally concerned about fuel reserves), during on-water exercises and sending beginners out on too rough of water. Multiple capsizes and at least one concussion in the 3 days we actually got on the water. Ultimately requested a refund for last day of class. Save your money and go somewhere else. St Paul Parks & Rec offers courses for 1/3 the price in easier boats.
