Lake Harriet Yacht Club runs a membership-based youth sailing program on Lake Harriet in Minneapolis, centered on weekly group sailing where kids explore the lake, play games, and build sailing skills. Members get access to club-owned Optimist and other boats, so boat ownership isn't required, and parents help rig boats and run safety boats. It is a relaxed, low-cost seasonal club activity (May–September) rather than a full-day camp.

We list only what the camp itself publishes, and programs change — dates, prices, ages and availability can all move after we check. Confirm the details on the camp’s own website and contact Lake Harriet Yacht Club directly before you register or pay. Last checked August 2026.

Good
I have always felt that I welcomed to an event or social gathering no matter what or where in been held. I’ve never felted was crashing someone’s else’s party. As a generally shy person this has been important for myself and my growth. As a Brain Injured sailor this is even more important. I’ve been sailing with this (family) for about four or five years now.
One design sailboat racing in Minneapolis: convenient, with youth and adaptive programs as well as friendly, approachable sailors. Makes me happy I moved to Minneapolis! All this and no motor boat chop on the lake.
