Viva Performing Arts Center is a southside Tucson dance studio (operating since 1987) that runs a summer jazz/ballet camp for ages 5-14, held Saturdays through July with students grouped by grade level. It also offers year-round dance classes from age 3 through young adult.

During the Pandemic I brought it up to my husband again that I would really like to put our daughter in folklorico. In March 2021 we got to enroll our daughter into folklorico and hip hop dance classes. At the time our daughter was 5 years old and got to be in the beginners class. Now our daughter is thriving and is 7 years and is confident. She is part of the dance group. The classes are well organized and the instructors are kind. My husband and I were looking for a studio that would also support our parenting technique which is mindfulness and gentle parenting. To find instructors who are kind, mindful, and respectful to all students is truly incredible. The costumes are unbelievable and the director pays close attention to detail. We have now done over 6 recitals and a plethora of events in the community. The instructors and director make Viva Performing Arts a wonderful accepting community. We are so happy to be a part of this studio.
