Virginia Dance Conservatory runs themed half-day weekly dance camps for ages 3-12 through June, July and August at its Arlington studio, each week combining daily dance class, themed crafts, outdoor snack time and choreography for a recorded end-of-week performance sent home to families. Morning camps (9:00am-12:00pm, or 9:30am for ages 3-4) cover ballet and ballet/tap themes such as Bluey, Mermaid Magic, Paw Patrol, Frozen, Rainbows & Unicorns and a Prince/Princess tea party; afternoon camps (1:00pm-4:00pm) serve ages 5-8 and 8-12 with hip hop, jazz, Broadway musical theatre and Nutcracker ballet themes. An optional noon-1pm outdoor picnic lunch hour bridges the two blocks and is free if a dancer is enrolled in both AM and PM camp the same week. The Pre-Professional Division also runs summer intensives, including a full-day invitation-only week for Prep-Level 3 and a two-week half-day intensive for Levels 4-6.

Powered by GoogleMy daughter absolutely loves this place and insists on going to all their summer camps. She especially loves Ms Skylar!! Thank you for being such a bright spot in our kids’ journey.
My daughter was a student at Adagio Dance Studio, and when they folded at the start of the pandemic, she moved to the newly established Virginia Dance Conservatory (VDC). Since VDC was started by teachers from Adagio, and many of the students migrated there, it was a natural fit for my daughter. I have nothing but praise for VDC, for the courage of Jennifer and Evelina to start this new venture as the Covid pandemic hit the community so hard, and I will always be grateful to them for providing a dance home for my daughter. She has loved her years at VDC, and she has grown so much as a person and as a dancer thanks to the loving care of the teachers. She has been able to participate in the Youth America Gran Prix and in the studio's "Nutcracker Tea Party" and Spring Showcases. My daughter has now "graduated" and will be going to college in the fall. I know that she will cherish the memories and friendships from her time at VDC, and I have no doubt that the foundation she now has as a dancer will serve her well in her next steps in life. Thank you, VDC!
Our daughter has loved classes with this conservatory! They are so kind and welcoming, and don't put pressure on kids at all. Our daughter is very shy and has stage fright, and they make her feel comfortable and don't push her at all!
Tiny dancers was a very positive experience for my nearly 4-year old. It is really nice during this time to have a program she can do independently, and she loves it. The teachers are warm and professional. The class seems to be of a high quality—my first-time dancer remembers the steps and dances she learns each week and always looks forward to class.
Virginia Dance Company has very knowledgeable, caring professional teachers. They have worked very hard to keep the studios safely opened during Covid (masks, air flow, physical distancing, sanitizing bars, temp checks) as well as give families the choice to attend virtually. They offer classes for recreational and serious dancers and all are given full attention by the teachers and directors. Both my girls love dancing there!
