Vicksburg Arts runs a kids day camp for ages 6-12 and an Arts Exploration Lab for teens each summer at the Outdoor Education Center, 15510 Portage Rd in Kalamazoo County. Classes are taught by working artists and cover pottery, glass arts, collage, painting, music writing, dance, silk-screening and book arts; the 9-12 age group attends a full-day camp while 6-8 year olds attend half-day. The teen Arts Exploration Lab is planned by teens themselves and offers cultural arts not available in schools, with past catalogues including henna design, terrarium building, stage combat, special effects makeup, advanced origami, hip-hop and jazz choreography and jazz improvisation. Scholarships and family discounts are available.
