What a fantastic place for history and educational space exploration! From photos to interactive exhibits for the family this place has a little bit of everything. Lots of things to see and get a dose of scifi and reality here. I would say if you have any interest in space this is a place to check out. Well worth the price of admission.

Definitely worth visiting if you are in Alabama! The U.S. Space & Rocket Center was one of the highlights of our trip. Seeing the real rockets and space artifacts up close was amazing, especially for anyone interested in space exploration and history. We also watched the James Webb Space Telescope show at the INTUITIVE Planetarium, and it was very informative and impressive. We bought our tickets at the counter around 10:15 AM and got scheduled for the 11:00 AM planetarium show, which worked out perfectly because we had time to explore the museum first before heading into the show about 15 minutes early. After the planetarium, we continued exploring the outdoor exhibits and rockets. They also have tickets available online, but if you are traveling from another state, I personally suggest buying tickets there so you can plan your visit around the next available showtime. A great place for both kids and adults who love learning more about space and science. Highly recommend adding this to your Huntsville trip! Also worth noting that the INTUITIVE Planetarium will temporarily close for updates from May 26 through June 3, 2026.

If you’re even mildly interested in space or science, the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville is absolutely worth a visit, and you could easily spend an entire day here just taking it all in. The museum is packed with hardware and artifacts from across the U.S. space program, and the sheer number of rockets, capsules, and exhibits means you can wander slowly, read the displays, and still feel like there’s more to discover around the next corner. Many of the exhibits are paired with detailed narratives that explain not just what you’re looking at, but why it mattered and how it fit into the bigger story of space exploration, which really helps bring the history to life. The planetarium was a highlight of our visit and felt like one of the best “extras” on site. The show we attended was visually stunning, informative without being dry, and the sound and seating made it a very immersive experience. It’s the kind of experience that can grab both adults and kids and really reinforce the wonder of space, so I’d strongly recommend planning your timing so you can catch a show while you’re there. Another pleasant surprise was the gift shop, which is much more than a quick souvenir stand. It has a wide range of items—from patches, shirts, and Space Camp gear to books, toys, and collectibles—so it’s easy to find something for both kids and adults. The staff we interacted with were friendly and welcoming, and that really added to the overall experience. From ticketing to the exhibits and planetarium, people were approachable, patient with questions, and seemed genuinely proud of the place. The center also offers military discounts, which is a meaningful gesture and can take a bit of the sting out of the admission cost, especially if you’re bringing the whole family. On the downside, once you get past basic admission, the extra experiences can add up quickly, especially for a family of five. Between the planetarium, rides, and various add‑on activities, the price for a full “everything included” day starts to feel steep, even before you consider food and souvenirs. It’s not unusual for major attractions to charge separately for premium experiences, but here it’s something families will want to plan and budget for ahead of time so there are no surprises. Food is another weak spot. The on‑site options are convenient, but the prices are on the high side for what you get. For a family, grabbing lunch and snacks on‑site is going to take a noticeable bite out of your budget. The quality is fine for a quick museum meal, but it doesn’t feel like good value relative to the cost, so if you’re local or driving in, you may want to eat before you arrive or plan to leave and come back if your ticket option allows it. The biggest disappointment on our visit was the state of the interactive stations. Many of the hands‑on exhibits and interactive elements that are clearly designed to engage kids were down or not functioning, which takes away from some of the “wow” factor you expect at a place like this. When you see a lot of buttons, levers, and screens that either don’t respond or are marked out of order, it’s frustrating—especially when you’ve paid for the experience and you’ve hyped it up to your kids. The static displays and narratives are strong enough to carry the visit, but getting more of those interactive pieces consistently working would really elevate the overall experience. Overall, the U.S. Space & Rocket Center is a memorable, educational, and visually impressive destination that’s easy to recommend, particularly if you’re already interested in space or have kids who are. The exhibits, planetarium, and staff make it a place you can happily spend all day, but families should be prepared for higher‑than‑expected costs on extras and food, and for the possibility that some of the hands‑on stations may not be working. If you go in with that in mind, you’ll still come away feeling like you’ve visited a unique and important piece of space history—and probably already be talking about what you want to see next time.

NASA is a must-visit destination for all ages! It stands as a powerful symbol of American technological prowess and remains a global leader in space exploration. Being here makes me feel proud to live in the U.S. and to be an American citizen. It is truly an unmissable spot. The atmosphere inside is modern, clean, and very refreshing. While there are some activities that require an extra fee, the standard experience is already fantastic. The facilities are top-notch—the restrooms are always spotless, and the entire site is fully wheelchair accessible. I recently visited with my 3-year-old daughter, and she absolutely loved it despite her young age. I highly recommend everyone visit this landmark to witness the strength and innovation of America. Amazing and gets more amazing when you see the Saturn V exhibit indoors. One of the best Space museums I have visited, absolutely worth time and money. They have a nice indoor outdoor setup so it never feels too crowded. We did a show at the planetarium-great! We also did the flight simulator and G force ride. Very nice, fun visit .
