Powered by GooglePositive environment while teaching kids sailing skills and working as a team. My child’s favorite place to be with his favorite coach David .. all the coaches are great with the kids!
The sailing center is fabulous. I took a private lesson w/George on a Flying Scot. The center has these and other small racing boats for the kids school. George was the best instructor...very patient, calm kind, & knowledge of the Scot & sailing off the charts!!! He builds & restores confidence in the student. He gets the adult learner! Wonderful experience, thank you!
I did my research and just became a member. So far, I love this place. Staff is incredibly friendly. If you know how to sail, boats are really easy to check out. Launching the boat into the water is easy (no hazzards and a wide open area allow launching under a variety of wind conditions). I have been sailing several times in my first couple of weeks. Boats seem well maintained. Facility is in great shape. They just refurbished their dock. Price is reasonable (you pay for a year up front, but it works out to be about $65/mo for the first year and about $55/mo for subsequent years). I can't even make repairs on the boat that I own for less than what it costs me to be a member. If you don't have a life vest or a marine radio, you can check those out at no extra cost. The radios are in good working condition and the same for the life vests. The best thing about this place, so far, is Frank, the boatmaster. When I check out a boat, Frank hooks the boat to the Kawasaki mule and pulls the boat to the water, and launches it for me (he does this for everyone). All I have to do is rig the boat and go sailing. When I return, I de-rig the boat, and he takes care of the rest. I am 38, but I have pretty advanced arthritis in my ankles, knees, and hips. Frank saves me from the usual terrible pain associated with launching a boat (lugging heavy equipment through sand). Because of this, I want to and do go sailing more. I am so grateful for him. Because of him, this is a membership that I will actually use.
We'll run race committee for sailing regattas. Draws international sailing teams. Ample launch space for boats and trailer parking.
The sailing centers beautiful facility is family friendly and great opportunity for the youth to spend time outdoors. They have activities for all ages. Downstairs has a lawn, beach dock and everything you need to get on the water in any of the dozens of sail and paddle craft. The open air upper deck has a great breeze views and tunes classrooms office and bathrooms.
