Town and Country Players is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community theatre at 4158 York Road in Buckingham Township that has served Central Bucks County for about 75 years. Its Summer Theater Youth Workshops cover ages 8-18 (grades 3-12) and teach auditioning, vocal training, movement and blocking alongside costuming, sets, lights and sound. Week-long workshops for grades 3-10 end with a showcase for family and friends, while a two-week Junior Musical Workshop for grades 8-12 auditions, rehearses and performs a full production such as Mean Girls Jr.

★Becca BaileyOur family attended the Cinderella production. We had younger children and were very disappointed with the play. It did not follow the original Cinderella plot line whatsoever. We prepped our children for the play to follow the story line of the original movie, and one of our children even asked, “What kind of Cinderella was that?”. We ended up leaving at intermission. Highly disappointed as we were very excited for a fun night out. Upon waiting to enter the theater, the tables to sit at all had centerpieces of colored pencils and markers, but said they were out of coloring sheets for them to keep busy before the production. Seemed very disorganized, unfortunately, as we were really hoping this would be a theater we would return to.

The audience is on either side of the floor which becomes an extension of the small stage located on the far side of the theater as you enter from the lobby. The show was 9to 5 and the actors were wonderful. The young woman playing the part of Dolly Parton had an amazing voice. Dolly would have been proud. I will definitely be back for more shows.

While the theater is small, the layout keeps it very comfortable and there is literally not a bad seat in the house. Parking can be a little muddy if the weather is off, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes to navigate the natural terrain.
