Incredible Facilities and Perfect Setting for Retreats! I recently attended a Men’s Retreat with Bridgeway Church at The Salvation Army Del Oro Camp and Conference Center, and I can’t recommend it enough. This place is truly exceptional! The facilities are fantastic and offer everything you could hope for in a retreat setting. The new state-of-the-art outdoor amphitheater is perfect for larger gatherings, providing a serene outdoor setting that enhances any program. The game room kept everyone entertained during downtime, and the chapel offered a beautiful, quiet space for worship and reflection. The main conference hall was spacious and well-equipped, accommodating our whole group comfortably. There’s a great variety of accommodations to choose from, including cabins that hold 15 people, cozy cottages, and three lodges with very comfortable suites. My room in one of the lodges was outstanding, featuring French doors that opened to the outside, a comfortable queen-sized bed, and a private bathroom with a shower. Each lodge offers meeting spaces both upstairs and downstairs, which can host smaller groups of 5-10 people—a perfect setup for breakout sessions. Plus, each lodge has a patio, deck, and a cozy fireplace, adding an extra touch of comfort. The food was delicious and well-prepared, with thoughtful options for every meal, and the staff was simply wonderful—friendly, attentive, and genuinely invested in making our stay enjoyable. Overall, Del Oro Camp is a top-notch facility that I highly recommend for any group looking to host a retreat or conference. It has everything you need to make your time impactful and memorable. Can’t wait to return! This version emphasizes the quality of the different facilities and adds those special touches that made your experience memorable.

BED BUGS! Buyer BEWARE. There was a well-established infestation of bed bugs in my room, 105. I killed at least a dozen & there were many more still living inside the bed frame. The larvae & eggs were sprinkled all over the un-vacuumed carpet. The staff was alerted of this immediately upon my discovery Saturday night & provided them w/pics. Another friend allowed me to sleep in her room, completely unprompted by the staff. The staff offered to put my clothes in the dryer, but gave no guarantee that I wouldn't still have bed bugs & had no clue how to treat my suitcases, shoes & other belongings – so I still would’ve taken home bed bugs. They also offered me trash bags so I could take home the problem & deal w/it myself. I left all of my belongings in the room, as I could not risk bringing bed bugs home to my family & dealing w/the fallout of that. The multibillion dollar comp. refuses to pay for property damage because, according to them, providing kids w/free camp is more important than reimbursing me. The bed bug infestation is due to negligence in cleaning & appropriately checking the rooms in between guests. I've cried for hrs about this situation, as this was supposed to be a weekend where I finally got a break from the rigors of motherhood, spent time focusing on God & enjoyed fellowship. Instead, I barely slept, my skin has been crawling ever since, I feel traumatized & I’m out $1200 worth of personal items, including sentimental gifts from my mom. The room will be chemically treated for 6 wks, at which time humans aren’t allowed inside, & I have the option to pick up my belongings after treatment. The camp director gives no guarantee that they won’t still contain bed bugs, since he “didn’t get a degree in bugs" (exact response, not a misquote). Each day, I work hard to eliminate anything toxic around & in me because of diseases I have that respond to toxins, so this is a big choice to make about whether I’d like to bring these items home again after they’ve been treated with toxic chemicals. I have never more wished I could rewind the clock & make a different life choice than I do right now. I hope that my pics will serve as a warning to all future guests. If you go, thoroughly check your room prior to bringing in any of your belongings, use the bed bug traps & spray, store everything elevated & away from beds, & remove the comforter since they leave it on the bed in between guests. Also, when I played on my phone at night, the light attracted the bed bugs so do that too. My one saving grace has been the amazing ladies I stayed with, who have supported me in so many ways to get through this nightmarish experience. They let me wear their clothes, itemize my own, & are even helping me replace some of my things. Our pastor's wife offered to go to the Board of our modest church & inquire about compensation, but it would be so wrong to limit the funds of our church because a multibillion $ corp. doesn't want to do the right thing. Just had our second Men's Retreat at Del Oro. Beautiful facilities and a really helpful staff. The food was good, much better than the first time we went. We will be back again next year!
