The Music Place (since 1984) is a Bay Area music school with many South Bay locations, including a Baywood campus in San Jose, offering lessons for toddlers through adults plus week-long summer camps across 7-8 weeks of summer. Camp classes are kept very small (rarely more than about 10 kids, often with a teen helper) and let young musicians explore or go deeper than in weekly lessons.

Excellent teachers have a way of taking difficult concepts and breaking them down so even kids as young as 2 or 3 years old can learn in a fun way and feel successful. I love that they also welcome kids who have special needs and offer private and group music therapy.
