Private
The Marchen Sagen Academy is a Decatur nonprofit, founded in 2016, that runs summer camps and afternoon enrichment for kids ages 6-12 focused on arts and technology: video-making and film production, podcasting, music production and crafting. Summer sessions add artificial-intelligence projects, team-building work, outdoor time at a nearby park, and projects campers take home. Daily hours and session lengths are not published.

Powered by GoogleMr. Al saved our family in 2022, when a popular kids place and afterschool camp just closed with one month left of school. We know it has been so tough on businesses with staffing after the pandemic, and they did not feel safe with their numbers. While I appreciate this mindset, you had two working parents with our oldest who needed after school care. Every place in Decatur was full. I found MSA through the site Dames, and I had seen it pop up in a google search, yet the recs from Dames helped me to call them. They had a couple spots open, and we were able to transition in our son during that tumultous time. Our son is a techie/engineering mind, so he loves everything about MSA. Eventually, our daugher joined him a couple years ago. We have enjoyed afterschool as well as summer camps and break camps. They learn amazing things through MSA. It is local, and our kids feel very safe there. Thank you so much for all you do for our little ones. Also, The addition of Crysta for art has been amazing for our lil ones.
The Märchen Sagen Academy has been a Blessing to my family. The staff is friendly, they're wonderful with the children, and they're flexibility with After-School Pick-Ups. My daughter loves it there.💞 Sincerely Grateful
We have loved MSA for years now. Both my kids have loved all the creativity and compassion they experience there. Al makes sure they feel supported and encouraged to try new things and express themselves.
MSA has been a fantastic opportunity for our son. He has developed a variety of skill sets from camera operation to video editing and podcasting, as well as, made so many new friends with similar interests. MSA provides a balance of content creation, creative play, and organized projects. We have taken advantage of summer camps, school break camps, and after school programs. MSA offers flexible scheduling and the extended pick-up time comes in handy. Great people, great projects, and great KIDS!
Had a great experience taping a public service announcement here as a group activity for 6th graders. Mr. Al was very engaging and encouraging to the kids. And they loved being able to operate the equipment themselves. Will definitely go back again.
