The Atlanta Yacht Club runs a junior sailing training program for ages 6 to 18 on Lake Allatoona, open to complete beginners as well as experienced juniors. Summer instruction is delivered at the club's facilities by SailATL: a weekday sail camp for ages 9 and up runs Monday-Friday 9:30am-4:00pm and totals about 30 hours of on-water instruction, while a Saturday program for ages 6 and up runs 9:00am-12:00pm across five Saturday mornings with a parent or guardian required to stay on site. The club also holds Junior Week and a Cinco de Mayo junior regatta for young racers. Weekday sail camp participants must turn 9 by June 1.
