Georgia Council for the Hearing Impaired Inc
Camp Juliena is a week-long summer camp for children ages 6-13 who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, run by the Georgia Center of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. Activities include arts and crafts, swimming, movie nights and campfires, and the operator states campers 'form lasting friendships and acquire valuable leadership, team-building, social, and communication skills' alongside Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing counsellors serving as role models. Established in 1992 by Eleanor Foshee and Pat Ford, it was the first summer programme in Georgia for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing children. The camp fee is $275 plus a $50 registration fee, and the operator states a small scholarship fund is available for families with financial need.
