Equellness Center is a nonprofit equine-assisted learning and wellness organization in Park City's Silver Creek area, not a traditional kids summer camp. Its youth programs use horsemanship and horse-assisted activities to build life skills, confidence and self-regulation, and it also partners with therapists and treatment centers. Enrollment is arranged directly with the center.

She attended last year in mostly one-on-one sessions, and we began the year prior to that with just one individual session with Alejandra. Now, in our third summer with Alejandra, we have worked our way up to my daughter attending the full three days of camp. My daughter is ten and can often struggle with new people and new situations, and, thanks to very supportive staff, she now feels comfortable enough to interact with the groups and participate fully. From the beginning, Alejandra and the staff asked specifically about my daughter's needs and challenges and took into consideration some learning difficulties she struggles with. Now, she keeps a photo of her and "her" horse, Sven, on her dresser and talks about how much she misses him and looks forward to attending next year. We will be back!

Besides being excited to go everyday, they had such a wonderful experience learning about horses and how to interact with animals and others. It went beyond riding basics and gave my kids confidence in themselves and fostered self awareness and friendships. The camp was so well rounded with activities and crafts that complimented their equine learning. My son, who usually struggles making connections with others, was able to bond with the horse he was paired with during the week. Alejandra and Lexie were so great with my kids and run an exceptional equine experience. My kids are begging to go back next year!
