I wanted to love it. It is Monty's only dance school, so the location is most convenient for us. I also love the instructors my child has had. The recitals are short and entertaining. When my child was younger, we attended one year but continued with another school because the class times were inconvenient for working parents at that time. We tried again for a few years when my child was older, but perhaps because she isn't an "intensive" dancer, class options are more limited. The recital is in Trenton at a lovely theater, but dress rehearsals are in the afternoon during the work day, so that is a real challenge for working parents. The school also makes you line up outside to sign up for classes each year instead of online, a hassle. My child wanted to take more classes and take part in their Showstoppers, but I was seriously ill this year and couldn't make a commitment to work/chaperone the event, which is a requirement. Discussions and communications about these and other more minor issues with the director/owner went off the rails quickly, as she seems extremely defensive and sensitive to any feedback. Despite my child attending 4 years, I've never met her in person. My advice, be open and warm to parents who want to give you their money. You want to make things easier and accommodating for your customers, not harder. Also, as this is not a competition school, open up all classes to kids based on age/level, not treat some kids differently than others because they don't take as many classes. As an aside, there are comments about being a second family. I don't need a dance school to be a second family for my child. We don't want that much of a commitment. I just want quality dance instruction that works with our and the school schedule. For the theater kids in particular, it would be awesome to have somewhere to get quality tap/jazz instruction without all the overhead of having to be an intensive student.

My daughter has been a dancer at DF for several years now and she loves it! Kelly and the DF staff have created a dance community based in shared love of dance, kindness, and inclusion. There are assistants in each class, older girls, who not only assist with the teaching, but really mentor and connect with the younger girls. The Dance Factory really feels like a family for all the girls and as a parent, I am so grateful my daughter has this community of girls and teachers to inspire, motivate and shape her.

The Dance Factory has created the most positive environment and experience for my daughter the past 6 years. I had to share this because last night my daughter told me DF is her second home, her second family. Not many places can cultivate such positive experiences! We love the Dance Factory and everything they offer.

Wonderful teachers and community here, the dancers feel like they're working together instead of competiting against each other. Teamwork, support, and strength are the moral foundations. My sister has started to enjoy going to class instead of fearing that she woln't be good enough like at other studios
