The Town of Christiansburg Parks & Recreation Department runs summer programs for children ages 1 to 17, including preschool gymnastics, karate, Scouting merit-badge courses and stand-up paddleboarding, plus the FINS camp with daily swim time at the Christiansburg Aquatic Center. It also partners with Montgomery County schools on Jill's Buddy Camp, a free two-week therapeutic summer camp for developmentally disabled children in pre-K through 2nd grade.

There were minor issues, however, the staff were extremely accommodating to my needs. Especially when it was time for the kiddo's to run off the sugar rush. The room per hour is fairly priced. Update 12/8/17: This will be the second time I have rented a room for a birthday party. Unfortunately the weather may be an issue so I called the rec center and they assured me that if I have to cancel due to snow that I can get a full refund. This was good news for my ears and I'm thankful for their understanding & the time they spent with me on the phone trying to find solutions. Highly recommended.
★★★★★Nr AngelI have fallen in love with the convenience and friendliness of staff at this awesome facility. If you are a town resident, exercise classes are quite inexpensive and use of many of the other resources in the building (like the track and weight rooms) are free of charge. As a disabled individual this is incredible because I have limited income yet still need/want to take good care of myself. There are great services provided for the seniors in our community as well! The building is kept immaculate and policies on behavior and respect are strictly enforced. I also feel safe when I go to the Rec Center, harrassment is practically non-existent. As a woman, it feels great to go somewhere you can feel safe and respected!

I usually piss people off for my own evil delight they (employees) just laugh and walk away, sweaty angry housewives don't however so be aware mess with them and you may have misbehaving housewives chasing you with shake weights of vengeance they are like Thor with his hammer except they are easily defeated by throwing the newest Scentsy warmer in front of them as a distractive then pull out your phone and film as they fight each other in a battle to the death.
★★★★★Tony LauxFriendly staff at a relaxed place to work out for the whole family. Love that it's free for residents. The equipment is definitely older as should be expected, and hope they replace some of it soon. I love the running track and the options for basketball, racquetball, and volleyball. Disappointing they don't have something for soccer, wouldn't take much for that to happen. The music isn't too loud, though they occasionally have on the not-so-family-friendly Ozzy Osbourne station. They do change it by request.
