The Children's House runs a Montessori-based summer program in Traverse City for children from 3 months to 13 years, blending its prepared Montessori environments with classic summer camp activities. The Primary program (ages 3-6) follows weekly school-wide themes with special events and a summer-end picnic featuring produce from the campus gardens, and requires an eight-week minimum registration. Discovery Grove (ages 6-9, grades 1-3) is nature-based, mixing outdoor exploration, crafting and Montessori-inspired learning with off-campus excursions on a two-week minimum, while the Excursions program (ages 10-13, entering grades 4-8) explores weekly themes and usually ends each week with a trip off campus. It is the summer arm of an independent Montessori school.
