The Alaska Club Fairbanks South Gym & Pool

I visited the South Fairbanks location for a tour, as I was wondering what all of the hype is about and was considering signing up for a membership. I’m so glad that I didn’t sign up for one. During the tour (which lasted for about five minutes), I did not see a single person cleaning. HUGE red flag. One should always see someone cleaning, as gyms are common breeding sites for dangerous, resistant pathogens. Everything looked kind of run down and outdated. Not to mention, this place has carpet everywhere. In a gym? Ew, how unhygienic. It’s become very clear to me that my concerns, regarding the cleanliness of this place, are valid. I’ve read NUMEROUS reviews from former members who have voiced how unclean and unhygienic this place is. This is a true health hazard. Not to mention, it is incredibly small and does not offer the spa services that they advertise on their website. After seeing this place, and reading the reviews, I would be terrified to receive any kind of “spa,” treatments anyway. This place is incredibly expensive (for no good reason) and charges hundreds of dollars to cancel a membership. For years, I attended an actual athletic club (out of state) and am appalled to see the lofty prices at the Alaska Club, when the quality of experience is no true match. What a rip off. I felt that I needed to write this review because I’m quite sick of recieving a spam-level volume of calls and texts from them. This place called and texted me on Mother’s Day of all times, practically begging for a membership signing. It’s borderline harassment and I question the morality and integrity of this place. I will be steering clear. If you’re in Fairbanks, and are looking for a quality place for you and your family, the UAF SRC has way more to offer, is always clean and updated, and is a fraction of the price with no contracts.

The new life guards, 2 young girls that were hired end of 2025 are really mean. We used to come just about every day to swim. Now we are wondering if it's worth the membership. The kids don't want to go and the guards make it miserable for the adults as well. Several of our friends have stopped bringing their families. Power tripping adolescence aren't a good way to keep customers that have been there for many years.

I love the Alaska club south . Makes me feel welcomed all around the board . My first experience there was, I was truly welcomed by Jaz Novelli, who is an Amazing host with great hospitality. Also on my first couple days there she informed me of personal training where I met a man name zeke who really caught my attentions. I agreed to personal training and I thank him as well for pushing me to be and do better. 🙏🏾

I have never belonged to a health club before I joined Alaska Club. My entire family is covered and when I look at my children and their healthy athletic physique, I know this club is well worth it. We swim together and the kids love using the racquetball courts or the Gym. I enjoy working out and finishing up with a sweat in the steam room. I especially enjoy the hydromassage. We also jump at the Fly Trampoline Park a couple times a week and my kids are very active there. Thanks Alaska Club!

I rate Alaska Club South 5 stars. Ms.Tracy is motivated & determined to keep the club up to date, all while making sure everyone is safe & respected. She goes above & beyond for her members and she try’s to be there when we need her… I would rate 3 stars for accounting in Anchorage. They don’t answer the phone or return phone calls. It’s challenging getting ahold of someone in the accounting office. Ms.Charlotte in Anchorage has been helpful in the past, I’m unsure what’s going on now. I hope they can get it together! But overall my kids & I love Alaska Club & everything it has to offer. A special thank you to Ms.Tracy! I hope you never leave us! ✨💜
