Our daughter has been dancing at Newport Academy of Ballet for five years, and we couldn’t love it more. The instructors are incredibly dedicated, nurturing, and truly passionate about their craft. We’ve watched our daughter grow not only as a dancer but also in confidence, discipline, and joy. The training is top-notch, the environment is positive and supportive, and the performances especially The Nutcracker are magical every single year. We feel so grateful to be part of this wonderful dance community. My daughter has been dancing here for five years, and I am so impressed with the studio and the teachers. The environment is warm and welcoming and the studio spaces are beautiful. The teachers are current or former professional ballet dancers and they excel at teaching technique in an engaging way. A huge positive is that it isn't a competition school, so the students are learning technique not just cheorography in class, like competition schools do. This is so important if your child has any dreams or thoughts of dancing professionally. My daughter loves taking class here. She takes ballet and contemporary. There are professional performance opportunities (she has danced in the Nutcracker the last two years with the professional company in the children's cast and they have their end of the year performance). It's great that it's downtown too. I can slip downstairs and get a bite to eat while she dances! Highly recommend this dance school!

Our daughter joined The Academy at NCB a couple of years ago when we moved from Boston to RI. It has been such a gift to find this wonderfully creative and supportive community. The beloved director, Brooke DiFrancesco, works wholeheartedly to create a warm, growth-oriented environment and every teacher there consistently supports, challenges and encourages the students. The Academy also presents rich performance opportunities with the student participation in the professional company's The Nutcracker being a special highlight each winter. The Academy embodies deep respect for the tradition of ballet while also offering a robust variety of other dance classes. Dancers learn to aim for excellence and practice healthy discipline while also feeling truly nurtured and part of something communal, special and artistic. Families are friendly, students support each other and all the beautiful things about dance (creativity, diversity, community etc) are celebrated. It's a wonderful place for students of all ages to learn and grow!

My daughter loves her dance classes here. The teachers have been wonderful and she is learning so much. The other students are so sweet too and she is quickly making great friends. We were new to the area this past summer and Brooke, the director, was absolutely wonderful at answering any and all my questions and helping my daughter to get started in the correct classes.
