My son went to Sunshine for 3 years and we had such a great experience! Thom and Cheryl really care for all of the children and gave us a great experience. It was comforting knowing my son was in a safe environment where he learned a lot and made good friends.

The worker, Hailey, put a 4 year old boy in the closet, locked them in there, and then left him there for more than 10 minutes, maybe longer… because he was throwing a pretzel at snack time and seemed to have a little too much energy. He was running and wasn’t able to stop when asked so was put in “time out” in the closet. I witnessed this occur at snack time while picking my child up.. but that’s not all. Another boy, Mateo, started crying uncontrollably as soon as they started serving the pretzels and cheezits and instead of any worker comforting him ( Thom, Cheryl’s husband, was also there), this poor kid just cried the entire time while every other kid ate in silence. It felt so strange! I was not going to let this poor kid sit there crying and not give him some kind of soothing, so I patted his back and asked him if he was ok.. he was choking through tears but seemed to calm down a lot just at my gentle pats on the back. There is no explanation for why it felt so heavy.. except that when I left and got my daughter in the car we went up the street and pulled over where I offered a substantial snack.. she could not sit up. She seemed very much like there was something wrong and we talked about the closet, which she called the bad place. She told me they put her in there bc she was off her mat at naptime and she was left in there so long she fell asleep.. on her first day. She was very upset about it and we never went back! She told me they fed her salami and cheese for lunch.. and pretzels and cheezits for snack time both days she was there! That’s it? Yea she is not a big eater but she was starving both days.. they claim that they are following USDA guidelines but they feed the kids worse than I would feed my animals! Like the salt intake from that amount of pretzels for a 30 lb child is borderline dangerous and to claim that you are following the USDA GUIDELINES, yet provide zero menu, no meal plan? Nope. The naps was the worst part. If your child has dropped a nap and is no longer taking a nap and you expect that they will be allowed to read a book or do an activity that’s quiet or outside while other kids sleep you are wrong! They will make your child sleep.. don’t ask me how they do it or what I suspect is going on because I don’t know but it’s not good! Bottom line- RUN!! This is not a safe place and u am lowkey waiting to hear about this place on the news!

We had our son hunner in the class for years. They are the absolute best teachers. They set him up not only for kindergarten but for first grade as well. I would recommend Sunshine 🌞 ☀️ over and over.

We were so very blessed to have Sunshine preschool in our lives. We were in a couple different daycares before we found this one. I asked the local elementary who they love getting kids from and they said “SUNSHINE! Hands down, Sunshine!” They said they started Kindergarten with a strong base of phonics, a love to read, an understanding of class community, kindness and an a desire to learn. They were very right. My kids loved the dance classes, cooking classes, nature walks, art, reading, reading and more reading. Teacher Cheryl is also on the look out for new opportunities for her school. Grants, scholarships, school visits from professionals, you name it she had it all. Highly recommend! Once we found them we never left until they aged out.

I couldn't have been happier to allow my daughter to attend Sunshine Preschool when she was younger. She is now 17, entering her senior year in high school, and still recalls moments at Sunshine. Crazy, right! Cheryl and Thom always worked with my crazy working schedule. So many milestones my daughter accomplished during her time with Sunshine. My favorite was always the end of the year concert the kids did. So cute! Plus, my favorite mother's day gift was made during my daughter's time at Sunshine preschool. Would never hesitate for a moment to encourage children to attend this lovely and well-established school.
