I recently enrolled my child in Sunset Lake Camp. Firstly, the staff seemed overwhelmed and unorganized. On multiple occasions, activities were canceled or poorly planned, leaving the kids confused and bored. Additionally, the safety protocols felt inadequate. I noticed several situations where proper supervision was lacking, especially during riding lessons, which made me uneasy as a parent. Lastly, the facilities were not well-maintained. The stables were dirty, and the horses didn’t appear to be well cared for. Overall, I was disappointed with our experience at Sunset Lake and would not recommend it for other families looking for a safe and enjoyable horse riding camp.

We LOVE Sunset lake! I was lucky enough to attend every summer as a child myself, & was so excited to send my oldest as soon as she turned 8- she is now 17 and this is her last year, she loves it so much she is considering working there so she can still keep coming. My youngest has been going for 4 years too, both of the girls have invited friends, who make this their summer routine also. The staff is incredible, the food caters to every diet need, the chef actually sat and went over all the ways he can help our daughters allergies. I love that my kids get to have a full week, no screens- just be kids! Ride horses, make arts and crafts, zip line, the banana boat is across the board everyone’s favorite! I just cannot say enough good things. Thank you sunset lake for being a beacon for SO many and so many generations!

This place is welcoming and inviting to all. The only Christian things they do (according to my child) is pray twice a day, once before lunch and once before leaving. He is attending day camp. He is a hard kiddo to please, and was unsure about a Christian camp but he says this has been the best week of his life and the best camp he has ever attended. Swimming, horses, archery, boats, a zip line, good food, and very nice people were his highlights.

Amazing place! We were there for a pathfinders club camp out last year and teen retreat this year. The grounds are well kept with lots of trails. Beautiful area for hiking and outdoor adventures.
