A Truly Exceptional Learning Environment SumOneCares has truly been everything my girls needed, and more! We've been part of this amazing community from the very beginning, starting years ago when my daughter received math tutoring in Ms. Nancy’s home. Even then, it was clear that her approach to education was something special-personalized, thoughtful, and grounded in a deep understanding of how children learn. As the school developed and grew, so did our trust in its mission. Today, both of my daughters are thriving at SumOneCares thanks to the school’s commitment to meeting every child where they are academically, emotionally, and socially. They’ve especially benefited from the small group instruction and tactile, hands on learning with manipulatives. That is exactly the kind of environment they need to truly engage and grow. One of the most impactful parts of their education has been the Orton-Gillingham Reading Program, taught by Ms. Meg who is a certified instructor. The progress they’ve made in reading is amazing, and even more inspiring is their newfound confidence as readers. My youngest wants to read constantly now as once she shyed away from reading at her old school. This program, combined with SumOneCares’ individualized approach, has helped them overcome challenges and discover their strengths. We’re also so grateful for the low-pressure, no-grades environment. It allows our girls to focus on learning and growth without the anxiety of constant evaluation. They feel safe to take academic risks, ask questions, and advocate for themselves. Those skills will serve them for a lifetime! SumOneCares is more than a school, it’s a supportive, empowering, and caring community that feels like family. We are incredibly thankful for Ms. Nancy and her vision, the amazing educators and behind the scenes ladies that stand beside her. We feel so fortunate to be part of this journey from the beginning. Update as of June 2025: We’ve just completed our second year at SumOneCares and we continue to LOVE it! I don’t know how to explain all the things we love without writing a book, so I’m just going to list a few of the reasons: —FREEDOM: no standardized tests, ability to travel, teachers can teach how they need to rather than locked into methods that don’t work. —KINDNESS: these teachers truly care about all the kids and promote a sense of belonging and inclusion. —COMMUNICATION: teachers are approachable and available. There is a community page where parents can interact with other parents and teachers, as well as a private sight for communications between teachers and your family. The community page is great for bday party invites, planning additional get together, etc. The private family page tracks progress, questions for teachers, etc. FRIENDSHIPS: My child has made many great friends. We’ve attended a bday party almost every other week and I’ve also gained new friends bc it’s so easy to meet parents. LEARNING: my child has made so much progress in reading, writing, and math! These are licensed experienced teachers who know what does and doesn’t work and who have the freedom in this setting to use all the best practices and cut out the time wasters and nonsense that some other settings require. We feel so fortunate to have found this program! Previous review a year ago: We first became aware of SumOneCares last school year when I was homeschooling and needed help with teaching math. In just a few sessions, my daughter was already making progress, and just as importantly, I was given tools and information on how to continue teaching at home so she could continue to improve throughout the week, not just during once a week tutoring. When Nancy starting talking about opening a school, I knew that was something we definitely wanted to be a part of. Nancy has put so much effort and attention to detail into hiring amazing people, REALLY getting to know the students and families, and making learning individualized. We love the homeschool enrichment program and feel we have the best of both worlds of homeschooling part-time and having highly trained and caring teachers to also help and collaborate with.

This marks our first complete year at SumOneCares, and I want to begin by expressing my appreciation for this outstanding program. Ms. Nancy has truly dedicated herself to creating a nurturing, caring, and safe atmosphere for the children. Moreover, the academic program has far surpassed my expectations; the educators are top-notch. When a child is supported by patient educators that motivate and supports them, it builds their confidence. I have witnessed my son thrive during this first year. I also want to highlight the wonderful monthly activities, such as trips to Ninja Challenge, movie nights, Lego nights, STEAM nights, and beach outings. The children work hard, but they also have plenty of opportunities for play, which I believe fosters a healthy balance. As parents, we often struggle to fit everything into our busy lives, but the app allows us to keep everything organized. It serves as a resource where we can revisit information, ask questions, and share comments or concerns with both parents and teachers. Each child also has their own private chat. One of my guiding principles is, “your kids are your biggest investment.” With that in mind, I am very pleased that we chose to invest in SumOneCares and the return is definitely paying off. If you're looking for a homeschool environment that challenges your little ones and prepares them well beyond traditional academic standards, I highly recommend SumOneCares. We have enrolled our son in the summer program, and he is excited to attend!
