★★★★★My Gymnastics Life

After being at our 1st gym ever, for 9 plus Years and this being our 2nd home gym now. We are very pleased with the competitive program and coaches. Staff and coaches are all top tier. I wish we would have changed sooner but glad we found them when we did. My little gymnast is very happy with the change as well and already seeing great improvements in higher level skills training. She is also making new friends. Coach Wendy, Coach Kenzi and Coach Brandon helped us get situated and settled in. The sky is the limit and we hope to go far 🥰. Thanks Sugarland gymnastics for making us feel welcomed and included.

If you are looking for a real gymnastics academy to help your child improve their skills and nurture their passion, RUN AWAY from this place. Here is our experience. My daughter signed up when she was 7 years old. She had already done gymnastics before (just not at this gym), so she was not a beginner. During the first evaluation, they told us she was doing great. They placed her in Level 1 but said she would likely move up to the next level in a couple of weeks or about a month. Well… it has now been 9 months. My daughter kept telling me Level 1 felt too easy for her. Every time the staff evaluated her, they had a very “sweet” way of saying she was doing great and was almost ready to move up, but somehow it never happened. Recently, she wanted to switch to another day so she could be in the same class and same level (Level 2) as her friend. She went through another evaluation, and this time they congratulated her and told us she passed. They said she did great and could move to Level 2. My daughter was extremely happy and proud. Today was her third class with the Level 2 group. Suddenly the coach told her, “I don’t see you on the Level 2 list. Go practice with the Level 1 group.” When my daughter came out after class, the sadness on her face was heartbreaking. When I asked the staff about it, they said they couldn’t find her name on the Level 2 list and asked who evaluated her. I pointed to the coach who did it. I also asked, “Then why was she able to check in for the previous two Level 2 classes?” They just kept repeating that they didn’t see her on the Level 2 list. The coach who evaluated my daughter avoided eye contact and said she never told us my daughter would move to Level 2 — only that she could change the day she attends. Even the manager, Katy, tried to say I misunderstood, even though she wasn’t even there during the original conversation between me, my husband, and the coach. My daughter practices very hard and was overjoyed when she believed she had earned Level 2. Now she is confused and upset. From our experience, it feels like they keep kids in the same level as long as possible instead of helping them progress.

We transferred to Sugar Land Gymnastics 8 months ago so my daughter could join their JD competitive team. We've had a very positive experience. The other gymnasts and their families are very kind and supportive. The team coaches (Mei, Nan, and Wendy) are fantastic - they have high expectations of their athletes, but are also very caring and supportive! The office staff is very friendly - always making sure to say "hi" when we walk in and open to answering questions at any time. And the communication is top level! Recently we also joined a gymnastics dance class with Ms. Alexis. I cannot say enough good things about her and her class. She tailors her classes to help her gymnasts with their performances on beam and floor. She goes above and beyond for every class, watching videos of her students competing so she can narrow in on specific skills each child needs to work on to improve their performance. She really goes out of her way to understand what each of her students needs. We've been looking for this sort of help for years and we're so happy we found her class. I cannot recommend her enough. SLG is the trifecta (great gym, great dance, and great office staff)!

Have been a part of SLG for years, love all the new additions, especially dance with Alexis! We have seen a great improvement in our girls performance in gymnastics due to her dedication. She is truly invested in our kids!

My daughter is taking a dance class at Sugar Land Gymnastics with Alexis, and we couldn’t be happier. Alexis is incredibly caring and sweet, and she truly takes the time to personalize her teaching for each girl. She makes the kids feel special by recognizing what they’re doing well while also gently pointing out areas where they can grow. It’s wonderful to see the girls learning and having fun at the same time. Alexis really goes above and beyond, and it shows in how happy and confident the kids are. Highly recommend her class!
