Powered by GoogleCalled to sign my daughters up for a week of summer camp - this is our first time here/signing up. You can't register online so you have to call up there. I clearly stated to sign them up the WEEK OF THE 15th. The week of the camp comes up and they only signed them up for the DAY of the 15th. I didn't even know single days were an option. This put us in a bind for work and let our girls down who were looking forward to this with their friends. I can't find a single email for receipt OR can't reset my password for any of my emails to see what happened. so I am assuming they misheard my email address as well. I wasn't sure what to expect when signing up, but I stated the week of 15th twice to the girl over the phone. I am not sure why thought that meant a day... Nothing was done for their mess up on their end. Needless to say, we won't bother coming back here. Maybe look into upgrading your website so parents can register an account and select days so we can see. Clearly over the phone leaves room for miscommunications.
Pros: lots of apparatus, classes start on time, payment/registration are quick and easy, restrooms are relatively clean, preschool director will make time for your questions and concerns, and my child has a lot of fun. Also lots of potential to do competitive gymnastics and more professional coaches in the advanced and older groups. None of the cons below bothers my child. She always has a great time. Cons: preschool seating can be messy - some parents have babies that spill milk or drool or have crumbled goldfish crackers and they don't clean up. preschool classes end early, with the last 10 mins consisting of about 5 mins in the indoor playground and 5 mins handing out flyers about other events usually costing around $50-65. Takes awhile to get out of the area because so crowded (I get very nervous when I think about what would happen if there was an emergency or a fire). Also, equipment seems to be getting old and some seem dirty, not cleaned between classes (no time). There is limited seating, and not enough room for two people to walk beside each other in the walkway of the seating areas (again, fire hazard?) - someone's bag hit my child in the face in the narrow walkway one time. Odd preschool policies (e.g., parents are allowed to leave their kids there and come back towards the end, which helps with seating issue but those kids can be disruptive, need help with potty, get hurt, run off, etc. and the parents don't know and the coaches don't have time to tell them), some less experienced coaches spend too much time focusing on the disruptive child while the rest of the children in the group wait in line doing nothing, coaches (other than head coach and one coach) sometimes do not enforce rules when kids jump in front of other kids in line. Website is not updated with all the preschool coaches and new preschool director, and they could invest some of the expensive tuition into that, the equipment, and space and sanitation issue. Worst is there is a no refund policy, even when the gym cancels classes that you paid for. They cancelled Th, F, Sat classes for gym meets with a gold medal Olympian TWICE and refused to give a refund or credit and instead requested parents sign up for a make up class. But why force customers to go out of their way to accommodate the business when they are the ones paying for your services and not the ones being absent? Why charge us for the weeks that there are no classes? Enorcing the no refund policy makes sense if the customer is the one missing the class, not if the business is the one cancelling the class. Should there not at least be the option of a credit towards another class or event? Conclusion: 3 stars for the overall quality of the program, the lovely preschool coaches (particularly the director) have been good listeners, clean restrooms, good equipment, and advancement potential. Took off two stars for difficult customer service, narrow walkways, parent leave policies, and not offering option of getting a credit for classes the gym cancels (that we paid for in full). At the end of the day, people just want to be treated fairly and reasonably, want to know they are getting good value for their hard earned money, and pray and hope their kids stay safe and have a positive experience. Wish the best for this place and hope they can take this review into account because they pride themselves on their professionalism and reputation.
I would like to share some feedback regarding my recent interactions with the front desk staff. Given the significant tuition and fees that families are paying, there is a reasonable expectation of respectful, professional, and welcoming customer service. Unfortunately, my experience has not consistently reflected this standard. The tone and manner of communication at the front desk have at times felt dismissive and unwelcoming, which does not align with the level of care and professionalism parents expect when entrusting their children to this organization. The front desk is often the first point of contact for families, and as such, it plays a critical role in shaping overall impressions. Clear communication, courtesy, and a respectful approach go a long way in fostering trust and positive relationships with parents. I hope this feedback is taken constructively, and that additional customer service training or guidance can be provided to ensure interactions with families at the front desk are consistently professional, respectful, and welcoming.
Our daughter has been attending Discover Gymnastics since she’s about 3yrs old… and let me tell you that we have been very happy with the work that the coaches have put into making sure that she continues to progress. From Coach, Kelsey, Victoria, Veronica, Jay, Bella and Coach Francisco… They all always make sure to work on identifying her strengths her weaknesses and her interests and have managed to keep my daughter engaged and interested in the sport. She loves coming to practice and she most definitely shows how proud she is of the skills she’s acquired. We are very thankful to all the staff at this gym and feel delighted we found this gym. We highly recommend bringing your kids to this gym no matter what age they are.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5-Star Review for Discover Gymnastics ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We’ve been with Discover Gymnastics since 2023, and it’s truly been the best decision! The coaches are amazing & they genuinely care about the athletes, their progress, and their confidence both in and out of the gym. Coach Francisco trains the Tiny Twisters and Super Twisters (pre-team) and he is by far the best coach for that age group in the Houston area. Trust me, we’ve been all over! He focuses on building solid basics and perfect form, and it really shows. We feel so lucky to have him coaching our daughter! Their summer Olympia Gymnastics Camp (OGC Camp) is absolutely top-notch & led by Gold Medal Olympian Svetlana Boguinskaia, who also coaches at Discover! My daughter looks forward to it every year; it’s such an inspiring and motivating experience. We’ve tried several other gyms and even signed up elsewhere in the past, but nothing compares to Discover. We happily commute from the Kingwood area to The Heights because it’s worth every mile to train with the best. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a positive, high-quality gymnastics program with world-class coaching and a supportive environment!
