The South Boston Recreation Center is a Town of South Boston Parks & Recreation facility on Jeffress Blvd, run by the town's recreation department. Its 2026 summer line-up for kids includes the Davy G. Mites Basketball Camp, an archery camp in July and a Kids' Art Camp, alongside free movie nights, basketball open gym and a substance-abuse-prevention tournament. The department also runs youth basketball leagues from Mites through Jr. Teen and Halifax Youth Football during the school year, and operates the Washington Coleman Community Center. He informed me that this is for advanced player, not beginners. I left before I open my big mouth.
