Google Reviews
Powered by GoogleThese guys do it right. I'm not a parent or employee, but have worked closely with them for years. There's no way to make every family happy, and only spiteful people leave reviews. So, I felt like I should drop an unbiased review. As a college recruiter, I trust the SBA team more than anyone in the industry and their results speak for themselves. If your kid had college aspirations, then this would be a good organization to check out.
We started batting lessons with Coach Thacker. Immediately saw a change in his swing, hitting, and confidence. Very happy with the switch to SBA. Was also approached by Coach Chuck and Coach Randy who extended an invite to our son, who is a catcher, to join the 11U team. Their very first practice blew us away. Coming from Mission (10U), this was on a whole new level. Every coach and player made him feel so welcomed on the first practice. We can’t wait to see the ball player he becomes! Very impressed!
What a joke of an organization. They preach a god based group and they are anything but. They continually lie, hire teenagers and juco players that have no idea how to coach kids. The 9u team had a punk coach who bullied one kid off the team, calling him fat and then telling the kids to hit a batter and slide spike first into home plate. The practices were a mess, no wonder the team struggled. When I reached out to voice my concerns, the adults said they would handle it; guess what, they didn’t. Before one of the owners comments, I reached out multiple times to get answers from them. It’s all about the $. Don’t let them fool you about being a Christian organization, more like “give me a bunch of money for bad coaching” organization.
Enrolled my son in a week long camp, $180+, which was canceled by SBA organization. No cancelation policy provided online, during enrollment, but once camp was canceled, I recieved an email notice that no refund was going to be provided, only a credit for future services. I sent email with screen shots of enrollment and blank screen from website, where cancellation policy link took me to, confirmed no refund, only a credit. I attempted to call, during posted business hours, but voicemail was full. Poorly organized.
I brought my 5 year old there and he worked with coach Cruz! I felt welcomed on our first visit and felt I was given proper attention. More over, it truly wasn’t about me, by the way I never do reviews. However, when it comes to my child / children, I do READ reviews. That being said let me start here: our experience was FANTASTIC! As a person in the customer service industry, I have now been shown what I will further expect. Coach Cruz, as well as the other staff there that day, made my 5 year old comfortable, relaxed, and part of the team. This is why I leave this review….it’s not about me it’s about him!!! TEAM, you hit a grand slam here. He will be a part of this program and HE WILL be a star. He’ll do so because of your guidance and values. I leave this review as a true testimony as to what this program is…..there’s no 5U PROGRAM!!!! There’s only coaching / mentoring! I read many reviews here and many talk of falling short in 1 situation!!! ONE!!!! Do we teach our kids to never fail? Or do we teach them that in order to grow you must fail???! I wanted to leave a true heart felt review from our experience. I’ll never ask anyone to base there’s off mine. However, mine is factual. I hope this helps future enrollees when deciding: cost, time, etc. You can never invest enough time in children!!! -Fickert
