The Sherman Oaks Little League uses felids that are inside a public park, and they are definitely violating laws which pertain to public space. Recently they have installed surveillance cameras and apparently they do a live webcast. The space they use they do not own and it is part of the Van Nuys Sherman Oaks Recreation Park. The little league has cameras up in the parking lot in between its fields and there is a main lot on Magnolia blvd that definitely belongs to the pubic park that they have taken over with cameras.the dude who is doing all of this, is a very territorial, hostile, and aggressive person. If I were a parent of a kid in little league I would be concerned about this man’s hyper vigilance, it was already over the top before he installed cameras. We had the opportunity to play the Sherman Oaks LL All Stars 7u penguins this season 2023. The players were fantastic, and had great talent however, the head Coach of this team who is an older tall skinny American male with a tattoo on the right shoulder who goes by “Mo” was extremely racist against our team. He yelled out load “I don’t need to listen to this Mexican referee” which he was referring to one of our coaches. He also continued to taunt our players instructing them to swing when he should have not been involved.Throughout the entire game the coach continued to make unnecessary remarks after our players were out or struck out. It’s unfortunate that such an a great team is being lead by an unprofessional, racist and unsportsmanlike head coach. I hope this comment will be taken into consideration when it comes to accepting coach’s for your league. It should also be noted that this was not the first time we face this team and each encounter has been unpleasant and the main head Coach has been very unprofessional. I’ve also sent an email to the president and I hope they respond so they can be made aware of this. I support everyone’s political view and freedom of speech but there should be a place and time for that, a baseball filed filled with young 7 year olds is not the place specially if the league stands for inclusivity, equality and love for the game of ball. I hope this a coach is not a representation of what the League of Sherman Oaks is made all about. Till next season Sherman Oaks it was a pleasure to see your boys play some ball.
