Sea Turtle Inc. is a nonprofit sea turtle rescue and education center on South Padre Island that runs marine-science summer camps at its Education Center (6617 Padre Blvd). Its Kemp's Kids camp serves ages 7-10 and its multi-day teen camps serve rising 6th-9th graders (roughly 9 a.m.-3 p.m.), with hands-on turtle lessons, up-close animal encounters, games and arts and crafts focused on ocean and sea-turtle conservation.

Many times we’ve seen turtles who’ve had to have prosthetics or surgery so having the opportunity to see and learn what these people do for them is great. The facility has been renovated recently. It’s a nice family educational facility. The cost is worth the help provided to the turtles.

★★Maria KryuchkovaAll the tanks were filthy, we were very concerned for the health and safety of the turtles. Tanks were covered with extensive algae and debris. Lots of the tour pitch covered the new facility and building out the dome in the back for presentations. Wish it was more animal focussed. Seemed very profit driven in comparison to the alligator exhibit next door.
