Ripples Wilderness Program is a nonprofit nature school in Crested Butte whose outdoor programs center on sensory play, ecology, and 'sit spots' - staying still and observing closely. All sessions stay in the Gunnison Valley within a mile of trailheads and are weather-dependent, and the program serves participants of all ages. Sessions are sold as packs rather than camp weeks: a 9-session pack runs $650 per child for locals and $700 for visitors, and the organization asks low-income families to contact it directly so it can try to accommodate them.
