I love the YMCA! The classes are so fun and they have great equipment. My son loves the play and learn area. We are excited to try out the pool. It looks super nice.

I have been attending this gym for around five years and paying $80 a month for it. They’re finally updating and fixing things after years of broken equipment and leaking ceilings but I’ve stuck with them. While in the middle of my workout, apparently I made a larger older woman uncomfortable with two inches of my abdomen showing in front of kids ( which happened to be my own kids ) so she complained. Staff approached me in front of everyone and requested I cover up or leave. My clothes are not vulgar nor revealing. I’m not busty so my breasts were not hanging out, my bottoms cover me all the way. This felt both embarrassing and like a direct insult from someone who is insecure. I do now acknowledge the YMCA has a family policy, however I’ve not ever been notified by any of the staff during the years I’ve been attending. In fact I wore the same outfit a few weeks ago and childcare staff complimented it.

I go to this location throughout the week to lift weights in the morning before work. The employee who opens the building in the morning always greats me with a big smile and pleasantries (which helps at 5:30am!). Additionally, the member experience coordinator has always responded when I fill out the customer experience surveys. I really appreciate that continuous feedback loop. This may be a small YMCA gym but the staff in the morning are wonderful.

Lady wouldn't let me or my friend go in even though I scanned for both of us and she clearly didn't want to let us in as soon as we walked in. She was very rude and would not even try and help us or explain to us how I could get him in. The guest policy is incredibly vague and is different on every sight where its posted. Most of the employees let one person scan and then take the rest of the guest in the gym with them but she wouldn't do the same for us(her job I guess). I have 2 people on my membership and when I scanned for me and then my friend, she wouldn't even let me go back. She refused my friend and would not help us with anything untill she started adamantly saying that he had to pay 20 dollars and sign a form. My friend said that he was not yet 18 and the form clearly stated that you have to be above 18 and she was still adamant that he sign it(clearly she was willing to break that rule). She wouldn't help us even though we both took time out of our day to come together. She just continued to stare at us as we left since she was refusing us service. I feel like there was some kind of targeting going on here, for what reason, I dont know, but she clearly intended on not letting us in. I just wanted to go for 2 hours but the YMCA requires you pay 20 dollars for an entire day if you bring a guest even though my membership is for 2 people. Honestly this was kind of disappointing but that is kinda consistent with the y. Bad employee wasting all of our time.

I went in to ask about a single young adult membership and after doing 20+ minutes worth of paperwork and waiting on the person to enter the paperwork into the system. Just for the person to tell me that it would cost about $60 upfront and renew at around $40 a month. I told them that is ridiculous and asked them to remove/delete my information. To which they acknowledged. I then walked out. I get charged a few days later despite not having a membership. I go in person and told them to cancel my membership and refund me the money. I even wrote instructions down on a sticky note so that there was no miscommunications. A week later instead of getting refunded, I see another charge for $25 labeled as insufficient funds fee from the YMCA. This is stupid, I just wanted to workout over break and now I’ve lost $100+ over a membership I don’t even have.
