This place is a hidden gem in NWA. While it isn't far from town, you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere. It is perfect for unwinding and unplugging. ONSC focuses on camps for schools and kids, but they also have many programs open to the public. My personal favorite is the Bear Hollow Hootenanny in the fall which combines nature with bluegrass music and food over 2 days.

Ozark Natural Science Center proved to be a perfect wedding venue! Our engaged couple are very interested in caring for the environment, and what better way to celebrate a new life together than the ONSC. This venue has three bunk houses and a cabin, as well as the great hall. We used one bunk house for quiet people, one bunkhouse for loud people and the cabin was the bridal suite. The ONSC provided tables and chairs for the great hall where we held the reception/dinner, and there are many different ideal areas to hold the ceremony. The enclosing forest is beautiful, even in early spring. The red bud were just starting to bloom. The dirt road into the center is well maintained, even after the big storm that passed through the area just the week before. All types of cars made it through, no one got stuck. Each bunkhouse has multiple single rooms with their own bathroom, and the ONSC provides sheets, pillows, blankets, and towels. The ONSC has a fully appointed commercial kitchen that our hired caterers were comfortable using. The buildings are all charming, and many walkways are asphalt, concrete or boardwalk. We were able to move all of our disabled guests where they needed to go using cars, as some of the walkways were gravel or a little steep, but nothing that couldn't be accommodated. The mattresses were great for a kids camp, but you might want a mattress topper if you, like me, are a delicate pillow princess. The big lodge is well appointed with seating areas and restrooms, and the science content displays added great conversation making. The star, of course, is the site itself, the buildings nestled into wooded hills. The staff was kind, cooperative and accommodating. In terms of spending money on deserving venues, this one is a great option. Your venue spending goes to support kids and science learning.

Attended a family reunion here with 50+ people. Rented out 2 cabins and 1 private room which slept all of us. The banks in the cabin were a bit tough on the old folks but each room had its own bathroom which was lovely after a hot summer day. The main hall has an restaurant style kitchen which was incredible helpful in feeding as many people as we had! Loretta was a big help to get us situated and she took lots of pics for us, too! We even took a 16-boat canoe trip on the Kings River which was a lot of fun. Sans the long wait to pick up boats at the end. It’s the most organized family reunion we’ve ever pulled off. Would definitely suggest coming here again!
