Camp Orr is a Boy Scouts of America high-adventure base near Jasper, run by the Natural State Council on nearly 600 acres bordered by the Buffalo National River. Its summer resident camp serves Scouts ages 11-18 (youth 7-18 are served overall) with merit-badge programs plus backpacking, canoeing, rappelling, rock climbing, shooting sports, and swimming.

★★★AudiR8_TXAwesome summer camp experience in the Buffalo River valley with many merit badge classes and awesome views. Here are some things to note: 1. The road coming in and out is very rough and is IMPASSIBLE/difficult for vehicles that are not AWD or 4 wheel drive. There is a small steep stretch of the road that multiple vehicles have gotten stuck on, primarily vehicles with more then 5 seats. Luckily, the camp had towing assistance available. 2. The antenna pine trail involves more than a 1000 feet of incline and takes 5 hours to complete for most troops. There is a large obstruction near the peak, and there are many parts that have obstructions due to recent storms. Also, be sure to check out Twin Falls, as it's close to the campsites! The hike is not long at all, and takes on average only 5-10 minutes to the bottom of the falls.
★★Denice TaylorThe camp itself is pretty. Beautiful scenery all around. The wooden platforms are less than desirable and the road in and out (especially out) is a nightmare. Because of the road alone, I won't be going back. We had to back down the hill 4 times and keep backing further and further down to get up enough to speed to get over this hill. And going 45 mph over a gravel road that has potholes big enough to hide small dogs in, is absolutely ridiculous. It was very scary just trying to get up that hill. You definitely need at least a four-wheel drive vehicle.
★★★★★Chuck StuartCamped on the waterfront and floated from Steel Creek to Camp Orr using camp canoes. Some of the seat screws on the canoes had rusted and popped off. Ranger said he was replacing with thicker and better screws. Other than that everyone has a great time.

★★★★★Chad TreserCamp Orr is amazing. If your boys are in Boy Scouts and looking for a good summer camp, this is a great one. The staff is amazing and keep the kids entertained in everything they do. They are also very well trained in teaching the merit badges. This place is on the historical Buffalo River and all waterfront activities are done in the river. If you have an opportunity to request a campsite, get Cedarvale. It is right next to the bathrooms and an easy walk to all of the facilities and events.
