My daughter and her friends go to Open Arts every summer, and they have a blast. Teachers are super creative and offer several options through multiple classes like movie week, in which kids select their favorite movie character and learn to sketch and paint multiple styles. My favorite is skateboard week, in which they sketch and paint an actual skateboard to use or hang on their wall. Keeps the kids entertained and focuses their energy on developing useful skills if they are into arts. I highly recommend Open Arts!

I took four sessions at Open Arts Studio with Carrie. As a complete beginner, I was nervous I wouldn’t be able to grasp how to throw on the wheel or end up with anything to take home. Carrie was extremely patient and helped explain techniques in multiple ways to ensure I was understanding the concepts she was teaching. I created multiple mugs (which are now me and my husband’s favorite tea mugs), bowls, succulent planters and plates. While it was challenging and sometimes frustrating when I broke my creations, Carrie was always encouraging and made the classes fun. Would highly recommend Open Arts Studio to beginner and advanced ceramics students alike!

I've been going here for around 6 months now with Carey as my teacher. Absolutely love it. It rekindled my love of art. I look forward to class each week. The level of teaching is built to fit the student. If you like to do your own thing and ask for tips here and there, you can do so. If you want a demo and hands on, you can get that as well. I highly recommend!

We signed our 9 year old up for after-school drawing class here, and after a few weeks of class the instructor, "Big John" as he calls himself, decided to call a few hours before class to let us know our son was being suspended for a class for being too talkative. My wife had observed several classes and said that all of the kids were talkative at times, but he would only pull her aside after class to talk about our son's behavior. He was the only black child in the class, and my wife mentioned that he has ADHD, so we suspect that one or both factored into the instructor's decision to single him out. We decided to pull him from the class entirely and asked for a refund for the classes he did not attend.
