The Olympia Robotics Federation (ORF, FIRST Robotics Competition team 4450) is a high school robotics team drawn from Olympia, Capital, and Avanti high schools that runs Camp Khitomer, a week-long summer robotics camp for younger students. Campers are put through a mock competition season: middle schoolers work an FTC season while elementary students work an FLL season, building and programming robots toward an end-of-week competition. The camp has hosted more than 200 students over its first three years and is run by team members as both outreach and fundraising; the team has also taught its Tech Trek robotics curriculum abroad, including an eight-day camp for about 100 students in Cairo. Daily camp hours are not published on the team site.

If you are an interested student or know of one, stop by and say hello some time. We also need students whose interests are in creative writing, graphics, photography, video production, etc. Also media relations, marketing and much more. Team relies on adult mentors from the community and we can always use an additional set of hands and new ways to solve problems. This is the Olympia School District's program to help students develop skills in leadership, teamwork, self motivation, empathy for others -- topics not generally taught in the classroom. The team strves for personal and team ezxellence, employing Gratious Professionalism and "Coopertition" as key tools. Outreach is a high priority and we are looking for chances to speak with community groups!
